Join us weekly for a dirt tour of Center Trails!

Due to Covid-19, our Monday Night No Drop Dirt Rides have been paused until further notice.

  • March - August

    • Meet at the Rose Garden parking lot. BEHIND (west of) the Art Center at 4500 Grand Ave, Des Moines, IA 50312.

    • We hit the trails from the Rose Garden at 6 p.m.

  • September - October

    • The ride will continue to meet as trail conditions warrant.

  • November - February

    • TBD. We are considering a fat-bike / winter schedule.

RIDE ROUTE | gEAR | & GUIDELINES

We tour Center Trails including J-11, Denman's Woods, Squirrel's Nest, and Rhythm. We may opt to ride Hillside/Rollercoaster in the event Denman's, etc. is closed.

It's a fantastic opportunity to learn your way around "back there" and explore the green heart of urban Des Moines.

Afterwards, plan to stick around and hang out for drinks at places like Confluence, 515 Brewing, or local watering holes along Ingersoll.

Gear

  • Dirt capable bike and helmet required.

  • All skill levels are welcome. This is a NO drop ride.

  • Riders will wait and re-group at the end of each trail segment.

  • We aim to avg 7-10 mph.

  • To meet our time/pace, we may opt to not ride a trail segment.

Ground Rules:

  1. First and foremost, we are here to build a community of skilled mountain bikers. Be willing to mentor and learn.

  2. Depending on the group size and skill levels, we will split into an A Group and B Group.

  3. We do full regroups at each designated spot waiting for sweeper(s). No man left behind!

  4. When on the road and paved trails, obey all road/trail rules. Never cross the center lines.
