Central Iowa Trail Association builds and maintains trails in the greater Des Moines, IA area. If you would like more information about trail we help manage, select any of the icons below.

  • Center Trails are an urban gem — tight trails twisting through lush woodland in the heart of the city. This 10-mile system of singletrack trails is named for its location in the center of the Des Moines metro and its proximity to the Des Moines Art Center and the former Science Center of Iowa (now home to The Academy).
  • Sycamore Trail is managed by the Polk County Conservation Board. The 6.5-mile Sycamore Trail along the west bank of the Des Moines River. It’s a wide, flat dirt trail open to bicycling, hiking and cross-country skiing.
  • Seven Oaks offers 7.2 mile and growing technical mountain bike track. The course is laid out over 200 acres of wooded ravine and creek crossings. Daily Riding fee $3 plus waiver signature. Helmets are always required. Tent Camping available.

    I am a mtb rider/racer that lives in the Quad Cities and travel to see inlaws in des moines alot. do you have any info on races in that area? any info would be great. thanx andy
